Harp Instruction and Performance Program
Parents are encouraged to explore both rental and purchase options for harps. Students will be able to develop their skills most effectively when they have an instrument in the home. Harps will be provided at each instructional session.
H.I.P.P. students have access to harps through various options as listed below:
Harps at H.I.P.P.
The H.I.P.P. program provides each student with a harp during each session. Students are introduced to the pedal and lever harp based on their grade and skill level. Elementary and Middle school students have the opportunity to rehearse in the historic Harp Studio at Cass Technical High School.
H.I.P.P. Harp Rentals
We have a limited number of harps available for rental to H.I.P.P. students on a first come first serve basis. Please contact Ms. Lydia Cleaver at 313-263-2139 for more information regarding H.I.P.P. rentals.
Lyon and Healy - Rent to Own Program
Lyon & Healy offers a Rent To Own Program, which provides beginning harpists an
affordable opportunity to purchase a new lever or Chicago Petite 40 pedal harp
after a six-month trial period. At the end of the six months, there is the option to
either return the instrument or purchase it directly. If the rented harp is purchased
directly, Lyon & Healy will apply the 6 month rental fee toward the purchase price

Atlanta Harp Center/Virginia Harp Center
The Atlanta Harp Center and the Virginia Harp Center offer several options for level and pedal harps. Each center has a listing of used harps available for purchase through their online store.
